Mental Health and Moms (and Dads!)
Tuesday Jun 09, 2020
Tuesday Jun 09, 2020
For so many of us, whether its the stress and strain of recent months, or just a part of our lives for as long as we can remember, depression and mental health struggles have gotten us to our breaking points.
Nicole and Keli discuss the dark places that depression can take us, focusing on what Keli is currently experiencing, and the steps she is taking to find help for her depression.
As moms and dads, we can spend a lot of energy protecting our families and children from the weight that depression ties around us. We find ways to cope that may give us a chance to be a "functioning depressed person." This type of depression may seem less serious or severe, but once we reach our "breaking point," the fallout is generally just as severe.
Whether you personally suffer from anxiety and/or depression, or love someone that does, we hope you will listen to this episode for ideas of how to support yourselves or your loved ones.
For immediate assistance with Severe Depression/Suicide, you can call or text the National Suicide Prevention Line at 800-273-8255 or by texting HOME to 741741.
